I had a coworker recommend Poe’s Tavern, and I’m happy he did. My wife and I both had burgers and they were delicious and cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was cool and different with Poe items all around. They offer a wide variety of beer if you’re into that as well. Check it out if you’re in the mood for a good burger and cool atmosphere.

Finally got to visit a favorite place of a passed loved one, and I’m extremely glad we came. The Building is extremely cool with Edgar Allen Poe stuff all over. The staff was all very friendly. The draught list was solid with a good amount of local beers. I got the sleeper burger and it was delicious, the fries were really good as well, but I wish that there was more as a side. The food also came out fairly fast even though they were packed.

Being a local I thought I should give my honest review. The food is really good but the actual wait for our food was almost 1.5 hours. This place is a travelers favorite. Super busy all of the time but such a cool place to eat. The burgers were great and we also loved the nachos. We will be back just in the off season! The do not take reservations but a great place to experience if you are visiting.

Great atmosphere and very busy but very fast and kind staff. Always a good sign when a restaurant is packed I have found. Not a big menu selection but we’ll known for their burgers. I got the burger with cheese and bacon with slaw (which was very good). My son ordered the grilled chicken and fries and my husband had the burger with Swiss. Fast service and great people. Can’t wait to visit again.

The Beef Rue Morgue is an EXPERIENCE. It was thoroughly worth the trip; very filling, and it has a truly delightful flavor profile. The staff told us they call it a “hangover cure,” but I call it a masterpiece. 10/10 do recommend. ⬛

I like most things about South Carolina, but Poe’s Tavern is one of my favorites. Any road trip down South for us includes a stop at Poe’s Tavern. The Poe theme is perfectly executed. The food is all phenomenal, the service is always very friendly, and the atmosphere is unique and awesome. In the 34 states I have visited so far. Poe’s Tavern is one of the best, especially the Sullivan’s Island Location, although any of the others will give you a great experience too.

A Sullivan’s Island institution we’ve been eating at for many, many years. Try to eat off-hours as Poe’s is usually packed with the beach crowd. Poe’s features an awesome bar and atmosphere. Burgers and fish tacos are usually pretty good.

I had one of their burgers and it was cooked exactly how I had asked for it. Potatoe salad was good. My friend had the fish tacos and she thought they were good. The nachos were not so great. We got what seemed like the bottom of the bag chips. Just a bunch of tiny pieces. The way they had the restaurant decorated was pretty cool inside and out.

Super cool local spot. Very laid back but the food was nothing short of delicious. Had the crab cake and burger combo. Thought it sounded nuts but I was shocked at how good it was! And what a cool place in general to look around and see all the unique Poe things. Also, our server Chris was fabulous. Will definitely be back if we ever find ourselves in that area again.
