Quite possibly the best taco shop in town. This is a great restaurant to visit for all your favorites: Tacos, burritos, carne asada fries! It’s a family owned and operated business, and it shows in the quality they put in the food and the service they deliver. But move over California Burrito: The new star of the show is the SAN DIEGO Burrito. Definitely be sure to come in and visit these guys. You won’t look at Taco Bell the same ever again.

The way people get sO upSET when they review businesses like this, who work hard for their profit, is beyond me. Especially when it’s based on one experience, like “We come here all the time but this one time it wasn’t good…1 star… we won’t be returning!” I mean sheesh. Humans are gonna human, and while we should expect general consistency in products we pay for, there’s sometimes the “bad egg” experience. It’s not entirely fair to go sideways in the reviews after one experience, but I digress. Rancho Villas is a solid taco shop. As a 40 year SD native who has had her fair share of Mexican food across the county, I can say this place is good. We’ve been many times. Our favorites are the breakfast burritos, albondigas soup, rolled tacos, rice, and hot sauce. Customer service is great, prices are fair.

1 star because the cashier was so nice. The red salsa mild was terrible. It tasted very watery. The diced onions and cilantro were ok. The carne asada fries were not good. I could barely taste the salt in the fries.the meat was too thick. The avocado was good. My baby did enjoy the fries so adding 1 more star. Parking is good. Right up front the door and restaurant so I can see my vehicle. You need to change the way you make the carne asada fries and salsa. The horchata was also very watery. It had a more clear color on it. I didnt ask for ice. Good portion in the foam containers. Oh ya I’m never going back. The orange rice is excellent so I’m adding another star with a total of 3

15 years ago this restaurant was a staple, we ate here 3 or 4 times a week, then we moved to Texas and longed for Mexican food like this place with no such luck. We are here on vacation and we were overwhelmed when we got to eat here, the food hasn’t changed a bit.
