We had a fairly decent group and when we got there the server was kind of rude and short with us. When taking our order her tone was kind of condescending and answers to questions were short and snappy like she didn’t want to serve a large group. We weren’t rude or loud, and tipped fairly well. And as we’re making plans at the table about to leave they literally had people standing and staring at us until we left so they could seat more people. I’m from out of state so when we come back to visit we’re probably not going to eat there again. Food was good but the service put us off ever coming back.

Descent Cafe style restaurant with the standard affair of breakfast and lunch items. The French does was descent and had a little flavor. Meet was a little dry and there could have been something more like horseradish sauce or grilled onions. The italian wedding soup was luke warm when served which was kind of a bummer. Salad was good and with actual veggies. Breakfast items were spot on so no comments there.

CAN’T GO WRONG; EXCELLENT FOOD AND SERVICE (before and after the pandemic); ANYONE WITH COMPLAINTS MUST HAVE VISITED ON AN “EXTREMELY OFF” DAY; standard breakfast fare at a diner typically visited by local residents daily/weekenders/national holiday crowds visiting the area alike — Humbolt Redwoods State Park, Founders Grove is south on 101 [with not much else available in between]; easy to find downtown location; on-site parking and plenty on the street with not far to walk.

After Reading all the Bad Reviews and being from out of town of 260 miles away, I must say I strongly disagree with them and Found first that the Food was Made to my request, and my Son’s Pancake was with a special face with additional Small Pancakes for the Ears, very nicely decorated.

Love this little place for breakfast. My waitress, Lexi was very attentive and so sweet, as she is always to her Nan I love seein my little Granddaughter at work. Doin great sweetie! Pretty good food too. The biscuit was halved and grilled, which i loved. I like that when I asked for CRISPY HASHBROWNS, Chef UNDERSTOOD THE ASSIGNMENT as you can see. Everybody knows that Hash Browns are an issue here. Chicken fried steak was ok, as idt it was housemade. That’s ok, I’ll try the French toast next time. I came for the fam anyway

The Redwood Café is a fun little brunch spot. I’ll start with the only problems I had during my visit: they couldn’t cook eggs sunny side up correctly, and overcooked the ribeye steak. They were super good about fixing the eggs and had some replacements out in a minute, with no sass to boot! The California burger and veggie omelet were solid. Price is reasonable and the wait times were good. It was a little busy so the older protestants waiting for a table were moaning and groaning about the wait time, but overall if you have a bit of patience this is an excellent place to stop in when youre going through Fortuna.
