So much yummy food! Our server was attentive but not over bearing. We love The Redwood. We were celebrating our anniversary that evening. It has become our tradition since we moved to the area several years ago.

This restaurant is phenomenal! We loved everything about it! The relish tray was wonderful, brought back so many memories when places use to serve them! The fish my friend had was excellent as was my pork chop. Onions are the best ever!! The bread was warm and yummy. It was my friend’s birthday and they played happy birthday and brought him a dessert with a candle ! It was so special! Amy was our waitress and we loved her ! Excellent service! Will definitely be back!!!

This place is awesome! It’s like a supper club that you’d find in Wisconsin. They’ve got an impressive amount of seafood on the menu and they bring out a relish tray containing everything from meat and cheese to pickled herring to olives and radishes. Biggest favor you can do for yourself is order one of the supper club cocktails/ice cream cocktails. We tried three different ones (really could have stuck with one, maybe two, for all 3 people) – the Grasshopper, the Swiss Virgin, and the Brandy Alexander. Absolutely fantastic. Barb was covering the drinks, tables and serving food and doing it all with a smile on her face. Great experience!

This was absolutely the worst steakhouse I have ever been to. The relish tray was very good but the steak was super small for supposedly a 10-12 ounce sirloin. The steak seemed more like round steak and was brought to the table barely warm. If the place is called a steak house the steak should be the star. Very disappointing and a definite waist of time and money. Will never go back.

I’ve known this place all my life & I’m in my 50’s! The food use to be tops but it has slipped over the past 2-3 years…..and I don’t know why? I’ve always been a fan of the Relish Plate [kinda like a mini salad bar brought to your table……the more folks in your party, the more things on the Relish Plate. We still eat here from time to time……probably in hope of the food quality returning to the ole days.

Cute place! Waitress was very nice but it seemed like she was the only one, so diners need to be patient. Food was good – the relish tray was so cute and fun! It has a lot of different little things on it, and we had fun sampling all of them. The onion rings were also really good, as was the meal itself. Ham was very good quality and hubby said the chicken livers were really good. It’s a bit pricey, but worth it for a special meal.

I’m a really patient person who believes in grace and that everybody has bad days, so for me to leave a negative review, it really had to be atrocious. Our server, Karen was just so grumpy and down right rude. We had reservations and were on time. My husband asked for a Fat Tire beer, the same as me, but he was provided a different beer; and when he asked for the correction, Karen snippedly stated “I don’t know what we have in the cooler”. Okay, so instead he asked for an Mc Ultra and she proceeded to bring him the wrong beer again. Our food was taking really long, and since Karen was just polishing silverware at the bar, I went up and asked for more bread please. She rolled her eyes and stormed off, the woman working next to her, was kind enough to state the bread would be right out. Karen then came along and aggressively threw the bread at us, which felt so disrespectful. Our food arrived TWO HOURS later. I ordered the pecan bacon wrapped tenderloin and received the jalapeño bacon wrapped tenderloin. While it wasn’t what I ordered, the food was good so I didn’t bother mentioning it; wouldn’t want to upset our server. It’s just disheartening to be treated that way when we were kind and not even demanding at all. Given most of the business in that town appear to be abandoned and this is one of the very few places left, you think they would want to provide quality service. I know Karen has been there a crazy long time, but if she’s going to be so nasty to loyal customers, it might be time to retire.

Best food ever! We make a point to eat at the Redwood whenever we are in Anita. Restaurant has been there for 50 years or more, and it is always a positive experience. Meals include a relish tray, as well as the regular sides. The onion rings are to die for!

Good Grief! $$$$ this was the most expensive poor quality and poorly prepared food I’ve ever had. My Child got a 7 dollar grilled cheese sandwich and an order of Not fresh French fries were 5 dollars. The pork chop was so dry it was tough and the ribeye was thin and gristle. This place is WAY overpriced

The Redwood is a gem hidden in ole Anita, Iowa. I always walk out satisfied with the plethora of food, quality of service & the atmosphere. You have to start with an order of onion rings or cheese balls; they’re the best. With dinner, you get a delicious relish tray, salad and bread. There’s not an entree I’ve tried that I don’t love.
