I had just gotten into town after a four hour drive, and I needed lunch. Sal’s “sit down lunch buffet” was perfect! I had unsweet tea, salad with vinaigrette, and two enormous, fresh-made garlic knots. They were soft and melted in my mouth. The cheese ravioli and manicotti were perfectly portioned for lunch. I couldn’t eat another bite — but I wanted to! The people are friendly and professional. The decor is delightful. I enjoyed the artwork including the hand-painted grape vines. The restaurant and restroom were also clean. I intend to return during my next visit to this part of Virginia. Thank you for a pleasant meal.

Sal’s pizza is amazing, and I love the salad their dressing is wonderful! Our waitress was wonderful and on point. The sister that owns half is rude and is not nice to us. She was very sweet to the other customer and gave them free dessert since Mothers Day was near. Never once offered my mother or myself any. May not come back

Hands down the best restaurant in Roanoke. From the food, which is authentic Italian to the service, which was off the charts to the atmosphere, which made me feel like I was in Rome. This is the best place to visit. I recommend trying everything on the menu. My wife and I will be back!

I had angel hair pasta alla pic pac. I was there with my family for a total of four adults. The food was fine, but not great. The service was pleasant but slow. My sparkling water was served over ice so that it got diluted and lost most of its carbonation. The bread was ho hum. The mini cannolis were sweet but not as good as I’ve had elsewhere.

I have been to this restaurant twice within a month and I can’t speak more highly about it! First you walk into the door and see a huge display or amazing looking desert then you get your menu and Do not Miss Out On the BEST Garlic Knots around! Be sure to post your location on Facebook to get the garlic knots free! Ask for ranch to dip and they are ever better! The veggie pizza was good but better with the ranch too. We also enjoyed the Italian sub though I have to admit it was different than what I was used too. But the real winner here is the manicotti! The ricotta filled pastas were so good that I can’t wait to have them again! The red sauce is very good and not overly sweet like some competitors. My husband had thw create your own pasta and got fettuccine alfredo witj Italian sausage and he loved it! My grandmother got meat lasagna and also loved it. Basically what I am saying is pasta is the way to go! The pasta dishes were far superior to any Olive garden dish! The carrot cake was also very good and moist and I would absolutely order it again! The restuarant is clean as well as the restroom. I also had GREAT service both times I went to Sals, the waiter is from the country of Paraguay and we got lucky having him both times and he is really friendly and genuinely cares about his tables and not just tips! He is very personable and goes our of his way to ensure a great dining experience. The only opportunity I saw at Sals is the table cloths were a bit too long for the tables and could create a tripping hazard mainly for the elderly. I had to take extra caution helping my grandmother out of the booth.

An impeccable well established family owned restaurant. I’ve only ever gotten one thing I haven’t liked here and it was a one time special I haven’t seen since! The owners really care about the guest experience so don’t be a lump and write a bad review without letting them know about it first, they will jump into action to rectify any mistakes! My partner and I had one of our first dates here and we try to make it back as much as we can.

So haven’t visited this location in a while. Ordered shrimp scampi which included only 6 shrimp for 22.49? That’s a very small amount for that price. The salad had no dressing as requested. Ordered garlic knots with marinara. No marinara. Ordered cheese steak special with no mushrooms add lettuce. Had mushrooms. Ordered another cheese steak special add tomato and lettuce but had no mushrooms as requested. For what we paid that’s not very good. At least the food tasted good just over priced. Disappointing

Food was incredible. Service was great and we enjoyed the atmosphere for a little restaurant in the outskirts of Roanoke. Food was a little pricey, but that is to be expected with quality food. Will absolutely be returning.

Food is wonderful and servers are friendly. My only issue with the atmosphere was that last time we went the AC wasn’t working. It was so hot in there we really couldn’t even enjoy our food.
