Schwartz’s Krautburger Kitchen Menu – Evans, CO

Type : German restaurant

Location : Evans, CO

Several people tend to associate krautburgers with sauerkraut. Although some people use sauerkraut in their burgers, at Schwartz’s we use fresh steamed cabbage instead. It is a lot more work but we think it is worth it. Schwartz’s Krautburgers are made with fresh steamed cabbage, ground beef, onions and spices baked inside fresh made bread. Using an old family recipe, passed down through generations, we are proud to serve today’s generations. Other names for Krautburgers include Cabbage Pockets, Bierocks, Kraut runza, Bierochen and German Burgers.

Based on 224 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 4.6 stars. Price $

You wouldn’t know by looking at it but Schartz’s krautburger is Evans is a hidden gem. Great food, great prices, and the grebbles and cinnamon rolls are great. Highly recommend if you’re wanting something quick that isn’t fast food and is home made.

Fast service. Big krautburger. I was a little disappointed that it didn’t have more meat. It would’ve been perfect with even just a teaspoon more of meat, it felt like i was eating a veggie krautburger.

I expected something awesome but was normal, nothing spectacular! Good size. To much cabbage just a little bit of meat.

Let me start with the good part. The restaurant is clean and the people are nice. Now I hate to give a one star rating to this nice, clean, small shop, but the krautburgers were mushy and there was almost no meat in them. Also, the kraut was chopped so fine it was like kraut pate. I’m used to about a half meat, half cabbage and onion mix with chunks of both in the burger. I generally don’t mind spending $10 on a good lunch, but this was more like a $4 meal. I’m not sure how this place is getting a 4.7 star rating, but I honestly don’t believe it is a near that high in quality. Those ratings are reserved for places like Santiago’s and Cheba Hut. I don’t really care in none of the rest of you like those places, I’m expressing what I believe is a more valuable view for folks who are considering Schwartz’s for lunch.

Growing up I never really would eat krautburgers. When I got the opportunity to try one I was hooked at the first bite. I absolutely love the Jalapeno Cheese Krautburger, best one in my opinion. They are available on the Order Up App and I constantly find myself ordering them for lunch and dinner. Just thinking about them makes me want to order one. I highly recommend them.

The food is the best. Not a restaurant though, just a counter to order at with a very limited menu. That is the only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 stars. Still the food is awesome. Cinnamon rolls and krautburgers that’s about all. I will most definitely be a regular patron here.

My mom has been eating at this place since before I was born. We stop by every time we’re in town and get frozen ones to-go. The people are so amazing and kind. I had a sleeping toddler in my arms and the girl took her apron off and carried my food out to my car for me.

I had my uncle in from out of town and he loves this place and was looking forward to this all week. Well I got there 30mins late. I was about to leave when they waved me in and I was able to get what was left. Fantastic food always friendly.
