Nice ambience and seating but food and drinks were too expensive. Ordered 3 tacos. Chorizo taco was dry, others were overloaded with sauce. For some reason took about 45mins for tacos to come out despite few customers

Came here with a group of friends as a group of 5. The decor was really cute and created a nice atmosphere. The restaurant even conveniently lets you order through square and you pay when you order, including tip. That’s a great business model for a restaurant that doesn’t provide you food for 40 minutes. The restaurant was empty when we got here. There’s really no excuse for SMOKE to have taken so long with the food. Drinks were prompt and came minutes after our order. The food was extremely salty and the regular tacos looked like burritos and only had meat in them. The special tacos had other toppings in them which was more worth it. This restaurant definitely wasn’t worth the LONG wait or the price.

“Good things come to those who wait”. Its quite true about SMOKE. The food was amazing, drinks great. Only thing is that it takes a while to get your food. Reason for that is everything is made to order. And when ordering from a QR system, you expect some promptness or a waiter checking on you. Not so much here. Wish it could be made a little bit more clear honestly. Mind you, the staff are very friendly and accommodating and will do their best to check on you. If you keep in mind the wait for food is going to take a bit, it’s definitely well worth the wait.

The tacos were so boring. No presentation or anything. They spent more money on decorating the space than they did on the food. The cocktails were good though. Would maybe go back for a drink.

The place was hot and didn’t seem to have A/C at all. I had a brisket taco and it was very good, but the chicken taco had too much sauce on it. It was practically a soup taco. We were not allowed to order nachos because they would only use the chips for Queso which “is very popular”. So they would not let us order $15.75 Nachos because someone might order a Queso side for either $13.25 or $16.25. I’m not sure why we were denied an item for the potential of 50 cent gain on a queso order. Very weird. I’ve never been to a place that would not take my order because someone else might want the ingredients.

Pretty interesting selection of tacos but the order by phone function has to go. Doesn’t give you the option to have an open tab and makes you provide a tip even before assessing what the service/food/drink is like. Just give your patrons a paper menu by default. Bartender seemed to appear inconvenienced when a group of us preferred to have separate checks and order the good old fashioned way through him… The pork and brisket tacos were flavorful but the meat was definitely overcooked. Portion sizes could be larger for what they charge per taco. Also, they could crank up the A/C a bit more with the summer heat and close the front door.

Good things come to those who wait? That’s what I thought too, people. But this place proved me wrong. Because I’m still here waiting for the food and it’s been, give or take 2 hours for tacos and there are empty tables here. In this amount of time. I’ve gone home to eat dinner and then come back. Spicy Lemonade is delicious at least.

After arriving to Pittsburgh for a 4 day, 3 night visit, we picked Smoke for our first night’s dinner. This place was so amazing we came back for night #3. A seriously awesome fusion of bbq and tacos. Pro tip: get the homemade corn tortillas for your tacos, and don’t pass on the smoke salad with Serrano lime vinegarette. Wait staff is also very friendly and accommodating:)

Visited the city for the first time and I am very pleased I tried this place. It’s the love of BBQ and tacos combined. Our server was super friendly and completed the lovely experience. The restaurant is beautiful. The food *chef’s kiss*. Savory and full of flavor. PGH has something special with a place like this! Make sure to try their homemade sodas… along with everything else 😉
