This place is THE local favorite. Run by an Albanian family, the food and atmosphere will be sure to satisfy. Belly up to the counter for instant service, or possibly wait for a table, as this place is popular. Don’t worry, the line moves quickly and the food also comes out in a reasonable amount of time after ordering. This place is efficient, clean and has the best vibes. On any given Sunday, you can see a microcosm of Anchorage here, with folks traveling far and wide to hear a “Hi Baby” from the Southside Grill matriarch. Real sourdough pancakes, strong coffee, yummy specials, huge portions and fantastic service. See you here! I’ll be at the counter, writing in my journal, waiting for my yummy food to arrive.

Life In Alaska
We stop by for breakfast craving for cinnamon rolls. This place is always packed and full of customers, that’s why I wanna try them out . I was Kind of disappointed because their cinnamon roll was prepared way ahead and it was so dry and doesn’t taste like cinnamon. However, scrambled eggs was surprisingly they use farm raised eggs and that was I like the most . However, hash brown little over cook it taste resemble as charcoal on the outside.

Worst place we’ve been to so far. Very busy, of course. They kept telling us 5 mins for a table, and we ended up waiting almost 25 mins. Since they were busy, they were rushing our drink orders, and none of us had menus, so the kids didn’t know what they wanted so the man just left amd said someone else will help but by the time they came to help was long and didn’t even acknowledge no drinks just went straight to our food order. It was very weird. Then the food gets here… disgusting. I was under the impression that at least some of the food is homemade since the prices are so ridiculous, u can tell its frozen and heated up, the burgers, Pancakes and fries,even the eggs were weird, and the bacon was so hard and weirdly colored, u can tell they just fried the bacon in more grease, it was not edible. They took forever to get us a refill on the coffee also. For their prices, they need to upgrade that food. For people who know food and eat well, this is definitely not the place to be. Especially if you don’t like being rushed, this place totally rushes you.

I really disliked this place. We ordered 6 different things off the menu, and every single one was just not good at all. I was under the expression that the food was fresh or homemade because of the prices and hype, but honestly, I’m not into frozen food made to look good. The food reminded us of IHOP or Dennys food, just kind of fake. We could’ve eaten the same food for cheaper elsewhere. The wait time would have been fine because they were busy, but they kept saying 5 more mins over and over again, we ended waiting for 25mins. I just don’t think it was worth the wait or price. The bacon was not cooked on a grill. it was fried in oil and just totally unedible.

After hearing about this little place for a while I finally decided to try it out. I’ve heard they are always very busy so I was happy we were able to get in and find a booth. I ordered the French toast combo. It was delicious and my scrambled eggs were perfect! The service was great and they kept the coffee refills coming which is always a bonus. Definitely coming back again for breakfast and hopefully lunch.

Had my service animal with me. Had been a very loyal customer for several years. Had the rudest most unprofessional server rose. I told the owner and she argued with me. Told me they don’t care. Completely unprofessional and was completely shocked. I didn’t even send back the food with a hair in it. Will absolutely never be back. What a shame she had always been so nice before.
