Spanky’s burgers, establish in 2001 is a locally family owned restaurant. We are not a fast food restaurant, so if you are in the mood for a good old fashioned, delicious hand-packed juicy burger, you are in the right place. We specialize in home cooked meals where produce, meats and sea food are purchased locally. All of our meals are prepared with our own special recipes and all of our meal are cooked to order.
We may not be off the expressway, but we know the drive down to historical Palm Blvd will be worth it. We are in the heart of Brownsville, Tx.

Spanks is NOT what it use to be. Food is way different, use to go alot for their beef enchiladas they use to be awesome no NO MORE was so disappointed with my dish technically it was a tortilla literally rolled with ground beef not even oiled just dried and the sauce was not even sauce it was Cheese with water as a sauce and get cheese slices on top of tacos/enchiladas just a huge Flop and for the price was ridiculous so sad. I told the gentleman hey they dry put sauce they only made more watered cheese no red sauce as traditional should be was not impressed. And No I’m NOT RETURNING HERE ever again. The cheese burger was not fresh anymore tasted like a frozen precooked patty overall left disappointed idk if they same owners or different owners with different cooks and stayed with the name. Idk but it’s not the same. Here is a pic of my $10.00 dollar plate that was NOT worth it nor the taste.

The place is decorated with antiques, which was nice to see. On the walls, you can see vintage Beatles posters. The music also matches the setting. When we went they were building a nice patio right by the resaca. Food was good. The girl who took our order wasn’t very friendly but the one checking the tables was extremely nice and helpful.

First time visitor. I ordered the Cajun Chicken Burger with chilli cheese fries and my son ordered the Bacon Cheddar Burger. Both burgers were delicious but could’ve used a bit more lettuce since it became wilted. It has one thin slice of tomato; would’ve been better with 2 slices since I could barely taste it. Chilli on the fries was a bit sour for my taste. It did come with a small drink. I think $30 for 2 burger meals was a bit too pricey considering. The young lady at the drive-thru window was very nice. I did find it weird that they asked for a tip at the drive-thru window. I gave it 3 stars because it was still and okay meal.

The beef burgers were good. Nachos not so much- not into canned cheese, especially on the border. The veggie burger was good until they took it off of the menu- we likely won’t return until more vegetarian options are available.
