This is a place where you can taste traditional Japanese food. Their food is not fusion style or creative, but rather food that you can actually have in Japan. The taste is ok, it is closer to homemade cooking. When you visit during busy hours, food may not be served so quickly.

Loved this hidden gem!! Make sure to go earlier to avoid large crowds! Had the ume onigiri, takoyaki, the 5-assorted sushi chef’s special, and dinner Oyakodon & Gyudon! Recommend coming here with a date since there’s a nice gift shop next door.

Ventured out my Atlanta based on the recommendation from a local friend. It’s a small establishment with limited seating, but we got there at a sweet spot. This is the closest to authentic Japanese food I’ve had stateside. I wanted to try everything, which made deciding so difficult. The curry rice was delicious and the lunch portion was deceptively filling.

The outside does not look like it has been updated, but upon entering the restaurant itself, the atmosphere feels comforting and relaxed. The employees were helpful and even provided recommendations. My only critique is that the two appetizers and later the two main dishes were brought out at different times. My guess is that it was all brought out as it was made. Overall, great experience and delicious food.

Awesome sushi and a super charming location that feels like a hidden gem. The sushi tends more traditional vs. over-complicated rolls that you get at many similarly priced sushi places. The hot dishes are just as good as well. The atmosphere is the real key though. While many sushi joints try for a sleek modern feel, Sushi Yoko opts for a cozy inviting vibe that feels like you’re in an unassuming neighborhood restaurant in Tokyo. Can’t recommend it enough.

After living in Japan I have to say this is the spot for authentic Japanese. The food was so good I forgot to take a picture.
