This has become my favorite place to eat in Oakland!! It’s a great family friendly environment and the service is 5 stars!! I had Spaghetti the first night with fried green tomatoes and mashed potatoes. My Wife had fried Cat Fish, Granddaughter had bacon cheese burger with fries. The portions are more than you can eat and we all loved the food. The second night I had Chicken Alfredo and Wife had a Veggie Plate to include, Mashed Potatoes, Pinto Bean, MAC And Cheese and Fried Okra. The second visit was just as good as the first, service was once again 5 Stars!!.

Simple southern cooking, done right. Parking is plentiful and service tends to be pretty good. Menu is a little limited, but food is great prepped and treated great. Hours can be confusing, they are only open for lunch some days. A nice clean restaurant with charm. Locally owned, though they have a second location in collierville.

I ordered a plate ; I had a choice of 1 meat and 2 vegetables, bread & a drink. I ordered country fried steak with white gravy. I chose fried okra and sweet potato fries. I had a roll and unsweetened tea. Everything was great. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. My final bill with tax was just a little over $10.00. I would definitely recommend this place. I look forward to visiting again soon.

We have enjoyed all of our meals at Sweat Peas in Oakland. My family really appreciates having this additional option for dining in Oakland, and we hope they stay around for a long time. Be sure to try the onion rings if that’s your thing. They are literally the best I have ever eaten!

Been twice. First time waiter was very slow. Wanted coffee with my food but didn’t get it until our last bite. Thought it was just a bad night but I was wrong. The second ( and last ) time my crime corn was cold as ice. The food was satisfactory but the wait staff was well below expectations. Sorry Sweet Peas not worth the hype.

Ordered the cheesy chicken spaghetti with green beans, mac n cheese and a roll. The chicken spaghetti was pretty good but didn’t have much chicken throughout. The green beans have a smokehouse taste to them which I personally don’t like but that may be their style. In my opinion, the mac n cheese would’ve been good if a different cheese was used. And last, the roll was very good. So overall I give them 3 stars. If I order from here again, I’ll get a different entree and appetizers and update my review.

A 1 star because you can’t give a negative. Today at opening time.. 1st customer. I placed my order, I was advised it would take 10 mins on the dumplings, i ageed to wait. At 11:27 25 mins later 5 mins before i have to be back from lunch i wad advised ” o we’re dropping your dumplings now”… SO i would love to give a big thanks to them for making sure i went back to work with nothing to eat!!! since im a manager at a local business in Oakland i have advised any employees if they eat here any time over the allotted lunch period will result in write up due to the fact they were warned about this so called “place of business ” i use that term very loosely with them!!!..PS i have put a sign on my desk (since im in the customer serive industry) stating “ask me about my experience at sweet peas”… WORD OF MOUTH!!! 100% UNACCEPTABLE !!!!

The best WHOLE FISH, HUSHPUPPIES MACARONI AND CHEESE, and ONION RINGS we ever had. We just hate that we waited so long to try it. This is definitely our new favorite. Service and prices are great as well.

It’s a great place if you want good food, and wonderful atmosphere then this is the best place for you to eat. My hubby and I love this restaurant, we travel from Memphis whenever we can to eat.
