Came here for lunch during a training class in the area. Got the chips, salsa, and “queso”. Queso was cheese sauce probably from a can. Chips were a hard and a little stale. Salsa had a little bit that was nice but could tell it wasn’t fresh. Got the two taco combo with steak and chicken, which comes with a side of rice and beans. Chicken was hard and dry, steak was bland and had a huge knot. Beans were watery but the rice was cooked perfectly. Reviews looked promising but I couldn’t have been more unimpressed. Will not return.

Great fast and friendly service but that was the only thing enjoyable. The water was room temperature and tasted weird. The food was semi warm and the ingredients seemed to be past their freshness. What my family planned was an authentic meal to celebrate a birthday turned out to be underwhelming.

I always love going to Taco Rio. If you are craving authentic, delicious and to leave satisfied then look no further. This mom and pop shop does not disappoint with the quality and price. My personal favorite are the tacos and michelada to wash it down. Please show this shop love and swing on by for a bite and support your local business 🙂

The food wasn’t impressive at all. I was totally over charged. I paid 30 bucks for 2 meals of the 2 taco combo and 2 drinks. What really upset me was the server/host that didn’t really speak English but even after speaking Spanish to her you would have repeat yourself several times because she would give you this dumb look. She couldn’t even give you change. I was better off at taco bell. I was frustrated as hell and I really wanted tacos.

Tried to eat here while visiting through this area since I saw other good reviews and could not finish the food. Chips were stale, salsa and queso just looked “old” or like fake cheese. Tacos de asada were bland. The meat, ehh I just couldn’t. Lo siento, no estuvo bueno. I’m from Chicago originally and I know good Mexican food so I was hoping this hole in the wall spot would be one of those amazing places you find that don’t look like much from outside, but blow you away. It fell very short. Unfortunately. It’s so so. The plaza it is in is a bit run down, looks sketchy so be vigilant.

4/5 food. Had a few pieces of really, really chewy carne and a bone in the Barbacoa. Pastor was decent. Salsa Verde was good, rojo was not my cup of tea. Gave me lemons instead of limes with the tacos—that’s a first for me. I prefer the latter. One star off bc tacos took 40min to come out. Less than half of the tables were filled…Maybe just short staffed? I think the move is to call in your order—seemed to be what others were doing. Anyways, probably won’t return. Not bad though and worth a try.

Really delicious food and at a good price. Nice atmosphere and staff. Came here with my family and was treated nicely by the Owner. One of the most humble places I’ve been to in long time.
