Julian took great care of us at brunch. He genuinely appreciates guests and provides courteous, responsive service without being intrusive. We love the dinner here and hadn’t been for brunch yet. The Saturday brunch was relaxed and chill. Some places have that frenetic energy, and this was so enjoyable. It is a must try! Excellent food! And the homemade English muffins are on another level.

Great little place with a nice atmosphere and wonderful wait staff. Loved the open kitchen and decor. Our drinks were fabulous. We got the half chicken and Caesar salad to split with one side of potatoes. All the food was really yummy but I do think it’s a little pricey for what you get! We were not expecting our food to total over $100 considering we were splitting a meal. Other than that I definitely would recommend Tall John’s for a nice dinner out!

Excellent food and staff! The smell of the restaurant is enticing and you get immediately hit with a sense of freshness and precision. I had a cold and refreshing cocktail with local vodka and the beet with goat cheese appetizer. So tasty, sweet and earthy, great balance. 100% recommend.

We had brunch at Tall Johns on a Sunday and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves: high quality, nicely prepared food, professional service and pleasant ambience. The cost was steep at $50.00 for two breakfasts with coffee (including tip), but this is not unusual for high-end restaurants in Asheville. Good for a splurge.

Came here for my birthday dinner. The bartender/server was so nice and let me taste a few of the wines I was interested in. I also had a nice chat at the bar with the owner and learned about the history behind the name Tall Johns. The fish was delish but slightly too salty. That didn’t stop me from eating my plate clean though. I heard there’s a really good house ice cream but wasn’t able to try it when I was there b/c the machine was broken. I live in the area and can see myself coming back in the near future, just to try the dessert.

Just left Tall Johns and can’t stop talking about it! We had a phenomenal brunch. The staff were exceptionally friendly and so accommodating. They were also so nice to our 4 year old twins and went out of their way to make them feel included. The food was also of the highest quality. Everything we ordered was delicious. We live in Charlotte and are already talking about when we will come back!

Inviting and open-kitchen concept makes for the perfect ambiance inside at the bar. My favorite items are the roasted chicken, carrots, beets. In watching the kitchen, they literally don’t let the food sit after it is ready- like directly from the fire to your table!

Outstanding restaurant! Welcoming and inviting – you’ll feel at home as soon as you walk in. Lots of great bar seating and with an open kitchen, you can watch your food be prepared in front of you while you enjoy a drink. The service is excellent and the food was fantastic. Cannot wait to go back!
