The food was AMAZING. Ellie greeted us warmly and walked us through the menu, and her favorites. Everything (except possibly the arby-esque fries) was made in house. These chefs got me sweating -and- wanting more hot chicken. The spices were complimentary with the heat, all while not getting drowned in it. Front of house staff is great too. Met one of the owners, and it is clear they have a passion for good food. Not a tourist trap, but right off the main area for those passing through with hunger pains.

Unassuming but fantastic chicken! Great shack before the bridge with plenty of chicken options and awesome sides. I got the 1/2 rotisserie with sweet potato casserole (ala Ruths Christ but better) and fried okra. All was awesome. Server was patient as i asked a few questions and subbed out sauce after i tried an oil based one that i didnt like. Honey hot was perfect. Next time ill get the pot pie. Have some adult beverages to choose from too

When you walk in it is a nice place. Let’s talk about the place first. The tables were sticky and as was the floor. The pepper sauce condment on the tabe was filled with only the peppers, no vinegar. They seem to have a ton of staff so in my eyes the tables should have been clean and condiments filled The staff was friendly, they don’t have any kind of uniform so you can’t distinguish them from the guests. One young lady had one of the biggest nose rings I have ever seen. (Nothing against nose rings, but it was not attractive and was huge!) There was who seemed to be the manager dressed in a faded black t-shirt and a pair of house shorts! …let’s talk about the food….I ordered the “Bird” it comes with one side and it was cooked perfectly and was very tasty. You get a choice of sauce, and I ordered the mild Nashville on the side. Believe me, I am so glad I ordered on the side as it is too hot for my liking! My brother, whose motto is “can’t be too hot,” ordered the blazin hot and a two-piece (it comes with 2 sides) with collard greens and Mac n cheese. Well, his chicken was cooked perfectly as well and said it was very tasty. The collard greens were a bt bland as was the mac n cheese. But the sauce was good for the ” I like I hot guy!” It is a bit pricey for my brother and i it was over 30.00. Overall, I can recommend this place if you’re up for some decent chicken.

After weeks of eagerly anticipating its opening, my family and I were finally able to come in and dine. Our party ordered quite the array of food, including Nashville medium hot chicken, BBQ tenders, mac n cheese, fried okra, seasoned fries, spoon bread, sweet potato casserole, and the deluxe chicken sandwich. I am so pleased to say that when it comes to the food, we have absolutely NO complaints! Every single thing was quality and delicious. The chicken itself is FANTASTIC, it blew all our expectations out of the water!! On top of that, the staff is wonderful, service is quick and friendly, and the vibe of the restaurant is welcoming and cool. I truly believe this restaurant has brought something to Swansboro that was desperately needed, and will be a treasure for years to come.

My fiancé and I have been talking about eating here for months, so tonight we finally tried it. The food? Excellent. We had everything from chicken wings to Mac and cheese, to sweet potato casserole. Excellent food. The ONLY complaint we had was that it was SO HOT in the restaurant. We were sweating and couldn’t wait to get out of there. Good food and good people but we’re ordering to go next time!

The fried chicken was great! Super crispy, tender inside, and great flavor. I had the blazing flavor thigh and leg plate and my husband had the mild wings plate. We also had fries, mash potatoes, collards, and pastry chicken sides. Everything tasted homemade and the customer service was wonderful! Also, the portions were large and the two plates with one soda was $27. We will come back , thank you!

We had dinner at The Blazin Bird. Wings Hot n Smokey were delicious, Chicken Salad Salad Sandwich was good. Sides were fries, green beans, Mac n Cheese, & fried okra..all were awesome! Service was spot on & staff was excellent! Definitely try them & I’ll definitely be back.

We are visiting Emerald Isle for a week. We passed by and looked up the menu. What drew us in was there was a vegetarian option. My boyfriend loves hot wings but it’s hard to find places that I can also enjoy. The vegetarian option drew us in but the sides are going to make us come back before we head back to Atlanta. The banana pudding is made in house without using instant pudding, the sweet potato casserole the perfect amount of sweet and savory, and the macaroni and cheese was really good. My boyfriend raved about the chicken the entire meal. Even the fries were good. The staff was very friendly, giving us tips of places to visit while we’re here.

We had a great time eating at The Blazing Bird in Swansboro. All the sides we had were amazing and the banana pudding was really good. The Nashville style chicken sandwich was great and is something that you normally find in eastern North Carolina. We will certainly be eating here again next time we are in town.
