We were out for a Saturday afternoon country drive and Buffalo called us to a late lunch. I checked the reviews and we settled on The Catfish Cafe, as both of us appreciate good catfish. Unfortunately, we were to be disappointed.

Decided to try the Catfish Cafe for the first time because I saw someone wearing a catfish cafe shirt at the grocery store while I was shopping. Very cute little restaurant. They have the best and freshest catfish I’ve ever had and probably the best mozzarella sticks in town. The chicken was good, the hush puppies were a little spicy for my liking but if you like a little kick then you’ll enjoy those. Our server Cynthia was so kind and attentive. Very excited to go back and try their burgers next.

What a treasure hidden in Buffalo, MO. Worth taking the road less traveled to enjoy this local cuisine. Food was heavenly, reasonably priced. Waitress was exceptionally friendly, and cooks and kitchen staff served food quickly even though it was busy. Even the local folks we’re friendly. We felt so welcome. Highly recommend this place and hope to visit again.

We went in because we were here once before and enjoyed our catfish meal. Today however the meal wasn’t good with everything tasting a little over done and like it was cooked in bad grease. The waiter did bring a burger for my husband’s 5 pc catfish meal but charged us the prices of our meals with a slight discount. The prices are incredibly inexpensive and if our food would have been good it would have been great. We paid the price even though we didn’t eat much and hope that the establishment will take our constructive criticism to help improve these problems. Always want to support a local hometown business and wish them luck.

This was the first time that we have eaten here. We’ll start off by saying that the staff are super nice. The dining room seems very clean. There is a significant problem with flies though. While my son and I were trying to eat, we were constantly having to shoo flies away from our food. The tomato relish was really good! I think it is basically like a sweet-pickled green tomato. Very tasty! The coleslaw was really good. The fries were very good. We got an appetizer of fried dill pickles and they also were very good. The catfish? I can say I’ve definitely had better, as well as worse. For a farm-raised catfish, it really has a fishy, muddy taste to it. Not all pieces were that way, but enough to make it undesirable. The coating was really good, seasoned well. Not very spicy though. They have a really nice looking menu. That being said, I will go back and try other things on the menu, just not the catfish again. Price was fair.

The catfish had a light cornmeal coating, seasoned lightly. The French fries looked homemade and tasted delicious. I didn’t care for the coleslaw but my husband liked it. I had a side salad that was the right size. It was made with iceberg lettuce. We did not have a desert but they did offer. We would eat there again if in the area

Waitresses were very nice young ladies that’s a plus before we even ate. The food came fast and hot .Fish fried right. Them bake beans and Cole slaw was how I like it, Okra perfect crunch. I was just traveling through. Thanks for good service and food.
