Great coffee if you’re looking for something on your way to the Volcano National Park in Hilo. Staff is friendly and they’ve a variety of snacks/food options too.

Excellent quality drinks and friendly staff. The macha drinks are especially well done as well as the vanilla bean mocha and lava flow drink. Free wifi is nice but on the slower side if you want to do work in a cafe vibe.

My mom and her coworker went to the Coffee Bean in Kea’au on 8/25/23 around 7am. She ordered an avocado toast, and my mom’s coworker witnessed one of the employees (young local female probably in late 20’s or early 30’s) drop the kitchen towel on the ground, pick it up off the ground, wiped a knife with the dirty towel, and then use that same knife to cut the toast. After witnessing this, my mom let the cashier know that she doesn’t want the avocado toast anymore. The woman who made it (who used the dirty towel from the ground) looked annoyed by this request to cancel the order. My mom’s coworker then proceeded to tell the female staff member what they witnessed her do! That staff member showed no remorse, did not apologize, and quite frankly didn’t seem to give an ounce of care at all.

We came here after a much needed caffeine stop after exploring volcano National park! I was super indecisive after seeing all the options they had! They were out of a few things but the staff was super friendly and helpful and made delicious recommendations! We ordered the Vietnamese Cold Brew and it was DELICIOUS! We will definitely be stopping by for another one or two…maybe three before we leave!

This is by far the most dirtiest coffee place i have been. The entrance is not inviting at all. Music to loud and chairs criss cross at tables.

This place was nice when it opened, even though the acoustics were terrible. The employees are still stellar, the product is still quality, but it looks like the inside got a little neglected during the shutdown.

Consistently providing an excellent cup of rich dark roast coffee, daily. This mainland brand brings unique blends of coffee, to Hawaii. Nice selection of baked and sweet items too. 😉 Enjoy.

Came here a few times and respectfully can’t give a higher rating. Coffee is alright. Nothing is worth the price in my opinion. Food lacks flavor and quality. Ordered an avocado toast and there wasn’t anything special about it. For the price, I expected a little more than just mashed avocado on a slice of toast. The next time I went, I took a leap of faith and ordered a smoked salmon bagel (what could go wrong, right?) and again, disappointed. There was a chunk of cream cheese and a sloppy pile of salmon in between a plain toasted bagel. At this point I believe you’re paying for convenience considering this is the only (obvious) coffee shop in the area.

Cute coffee stop in a great location. This has been our regular coffee stop while in vacation here. Coffee tastes great, nice menu with great variety of coffees and teas as well as other drinks like frozen blended coffees and non caffeine drinks. Lots of snacks and small grab n go lunch options as well. Definitely a great place!

We really love this place! Although we live in Hilo, we make the trek out to Keaau at least twice a week to get our favorite drinks and sandwiches. Most times we do the drive thru, unless we’re meeting with clients. Depending on the time of day, the drive thru can get busy but it’s always worth it. If you prefer to sit, they offer both indoor and outdoor seating. Great atmosphere and friendly staff.
