Love this place! The food was served piping hot and cooked to perfection. The appetizers were delicious, if you go I’d recommend the BLT dip with garlic crostinis. We had the Honey Fried Chicken, the Pecan Crusted Mahi & Cajun Shrimp Pasta for entrées.

Average is the best way to describe it. Sadly they were out of so many things. The food we did get was good overall. The fries however were mediocre at best. They tasted like they were cooked in the same oil as some seafood. Overall i can see why they were not that busy. The bread was absolutely amazing though.

On a whim for my husband’s birthday we decided to take the quick drive to NSB. I was looking at places to have a nice dinner and saw reviews for the General Public House. 1. It’s a great place for dinner or lunch 2. The food was outstanding (get the Fried Green Tomatoes) 3. The waitstaff – we had Christine – was amazing. She was polite, prompt yet didn’t hover. 4. We brought our kids and they were welcomed (but we eat early) We will definitely be back soon… an immediate favorite amongst my foodie family!

Getting seated took a bit due to what seemed as they only had one server for the entire restaurant at 2pm on a Friday. Server was a little dry especially when asked for recommendations. But overall the experience was good. I got the seared ahi tuna steak and it tasted as good as it looks.

We celebrated our anniversary there last night! The stuffed chicken with prosciutto was amazing. The lobster cakes appetizer was flavorful. My husband had grouper. We finished with red velvet shortcake and peanut butter pie! Our bartender was friendly and interactive. We definitely will go back.

I ordered the Char Crusted Sirloin. My steak was a smidge more to the medium rather than the med-rare that I ordered, but it was very tender and the mushroom demi glace made it scrumptious! I asked for extra asparagus in place of the potatoes. A great meal. My friend ordered the same, but with the potatoes. Unfortunately, she had to reorder her over cooked steak, to no avail. Lucky me, huh.

We stopped by for lunch today and bartender Cheryl greeted us with a happy smile. We found them on google and yelp and had to try the redfish sandwich blacked and my goodness it was delicious. The sweet potatoes fries were great. We started with beet salad which was huge and delicious. Cheryl was very pleasant and suggested the happy hour so after a couple hours walking canal street we came back for the buffalo shrimp and some drinks including a nice whiskey manhanttan made by Lea. She was very sweet and attentive. Will recommend to all our Orlando friends when when they come to NSB. Excellent quality with great prices and service.

Went here for a late dinner Friday night and was pleasantly suprised. Everything from being greeted at the door to leaving was excellent. Service was on point, food was on point. Portions are big and taste is even bigger. I would definitely come again and bring the rest of the family too.

I am amazed that I had not heard about The General Public House in New Smyrna Beach. The food here is very good. My friends and I had the BLT dip and Fried Pimento cheese as appetizers. They were incredible. We all then had the pork chop for dinner. The pork chop was a large portion with bone in on top of sautéed spinach and cheesy grits. It was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend General Public to anyone looking for an amazing meal. We will be back.

Although, Evan our waiter did a phenomenal job, the kitchen was extremely slow in getting orders out. There was only 20 people in the restaurant and grant it, we were a larger group, but the food coming out was extremely slow. Their chicken and waffles and shrimp snd grits are my favorite. No matter the wait, the food is worth it.
