We stopped by for an impromptu weeknight dinner, and I was so pleasantly surprised at how many plant-based options they had on the menu! The food was greasy but that’s pretty much what we expected so that was fine. There is a nice outdoor patio that I was sad not to use since it was a bit too cold outside.

What can I say good about this place? The service was so slow and so bad it became funny. There was only four people in the restaurant and about 6 or more staff. Even then, the service was so chaotic it would take pages to describe fully.

They were awesome and good service. Good atmosphere, thing that blew my mind was the food that is cooked here. Absolutely amazing quality and not oily/greasy. Left me satisfied and wanting more. Hella items to choose from, and cooked 100% the way it should be. I appreciate a place like this to have amazing food and stayed true to that from 1963. Kudos to you.

This family style joint has been around for years and they are consistently good and friendly. I love that this family business employs young people and each interaction is positive. Friendly vibe, GF buns so I can have a REAL cheeseburger and my order is always as expected.

The Red Onion has been a staple of Pinole for so many years. The menu has changed drastically, but Johnny runs a great operation. Love some of the newer food choices, but it’s hard to beat a good old fashioned burger from Red Onion. If you’re looking for a hometown favorite – Red Onion is the place to go!

Overpriced and disgusting. The buns to my burger tasted cold and the meat had no flavor, the garlic fries were nasty and way to sweet for some reason ! All the staff were a bunch of teenagers hanging out around the restaurant and laying down on the benchs which made us feel uncomfortable and weirded out
