Driving down the PCH and we ended up trying to find somewhere to eat when we found this place and drove into the parking lot. The lot is not big at all, so I would recommend parking on the other side of the railroad tracks. The menu is constantly rotating, but if you are on the hunt for good seafood, this is the location. My wife was in love with the clams, and the pizza was also delicious! I’ve seen some comments about the cost, but that’s just the normal cost of food in these small towns.

In a tourist community, if you want a good restaurant, you eat where the locals and suppliers eat. On the north Oregon coast that place would be The Salmonberry. The food is amazing– homemade pasta cooked to perfection and sauced with locally sourced seafood, meat, and vegetables (even seaweed!), house made sausage, the best oysters on the coast, local cider, and homemade desserts to die for. (Where else does the pastry chef forage for her ingredients?) And oh my gosh the pizzas alone would be worthy of a visit.

Phenomenal food with a great view. Even though it’s counter service, the staff is friendly and attentive. Everything comes in big portions. Great for family style eating. Some of my personal favorites were the Ragu, Mushroom Pizza and Hazelnut Pesto. But we ordered everything and everything was great. Don’t sleep on the salad either. We got 3 of those for 6 adults and it is the perfect compliment to tons of delicious pasta. I should have taken more photos of the food, but it was too good to wait on.

Cool atmosphere sadly the front waiter was probably overwhelmed with the amount of people and was sadly unkind to my friend who was just trying to find out what could be done for lactose intolerance. He wasn’t helpful at all. Food was fine. Very crowded kind of stressful overall. Maybe another day would be good. But we did have three small children with us at the time.

Ordered at the counter two ribeyes and two cocktails which was $140.00 plus tip… $58.00 entree and $12.00 cocktails x2. I grabbed my own silverware (No steak knives) and the table I was told to sit at was a table in the bar area, a food runner brings your food. I’ve never had a rare, cool steak in a bowl that looked like it was served on blue cheese oatmeal? Maybe? I don’t eat cool, raw red meat so I got up and found a server to take it back for more heat. The whole meal was an epic fail, which they refunded mine in the form of a coupon to come back. They brought a bowl of clams on spaghetti, perhaps to appease me, out which I ate maybe 4. I left hungry and gave the bartender the $50.00 coupon to cover our second round of drinks that I had to get up and go to the bar and get. Who asks for tips when the customer does all the work, especially before you even sit down. We eat out a lot, but I have never had such an expensive disaster. I wish I would have tried pizza instead.

SO. GOOD. I got dinner here last weekend and it was delicious. A great view eating by the water with beautiful sunlight. We got “the otherside” cocktail, sourdough and meatball starters, and three pasta dishes. Everything was divine.

This is the best restaurant in all of Oregon. I’ll happily drive a few hours there and back just to visit. The owner is cool, the bartender is super cool, the location is absolutely gorgeous and the food is simply amazing. Their head chef really knows how to cook! I can’t recommend this place enough.

Absolute gem. Stellar food, gorgeous view and very good vibes! Perfectly casual atmosphere, local ingredients thoughtfully prepared, and lovely desserts. Happy to see that they now sell pasta and sauce in the cold case, coming back for the hot sauce!
