Texmex for lunch today at Tio Carlos on Rochelle and O’Conner. It never ceases to amaze me that you drive around and never know what you pass. It was very good. Ray had Mango Avocado Tilapia and I had my favorite cheese and onion enchiladas. We must have been hungry bc we at most of the chips and salsa.

Salsa was great! Chips kinda stale on first bowl but was brought fresh. Street tacos very tasty! Service was good. Place was busy so kinda cramped in the bar area but it has better AC than the rest of the location.

I stopped by today for the first time and ordered the fajitas. Maria my server was very friendly and took my order right away. The fajitas we seasoned to perfection along with the meat being nice and savory.! Good portions on rice and beans as well.

The cheese enchiladas were fresh tasting, but the gravy had a bit too much chili powder, too strong. Rice was very good. Waitress was attentive & pleasant. I will try it again.

The service was not all that great. My mom ordered queso as an appetizer. I ordered a margarita for happy hour only $5 and my mom ordered coffee. The chips were not fresh she had to get up and look for someone to bring her chips. Walter was our server and usually does awesome but tonight not so great. I ordered camarones mojo de ajo and my mom ordered brochette camarones both of us didn’t get our beans before I noticed Walter walked away. He never came back to the table. Our entrees were delicious just missing the beans. We didn’t have napkins, my mom never got her coffee she ordered. We didn’t have the opportunity to let Walter know we didn’t get our beans because he never came back until we were done. I would have loved another margarita. When he did come to the table I asked him about the beans. He said he forgot his got a personal call with his x wife and had to answer the call. By now my mom was ready to go so I didn’t order my margarita. We still payed full price even though we didn’t get our whole entree. Just disappointed in the service. They weren’t even busy. I only saw Shelly once she must have just arrived she went straight to the back and I didn’t see her come back out. She normally is out talking to the customers making her rounds at the tables snd checking on the tables, Not tonight. Maybe next time I will try take out.

The food was delicious…as always. I’m a huge fan of their black bean dip. Their portions are huge. My salmon salad was $20. Normally, I won’t spend that much on my own entree..especially when I know I’m going to order dessert…totally worth it!!!

My family went to Tios after my mother’s passing and the service was not good and they changed the amount of tip we left by raising it to what they wanted. We have been going to Tios for years and with the prices going up and them changing our tip amount, we will not be back period. Keep an eye on what they do to your ticket!

1st time visitors. The fresh salsa and warm black bean dip was tasty. We had 2 ….well actually 4 margaritas with sugared rim….delicious. Tried the Yucca Fritas and chicharones appetizer dish….was fried to amazing crispness, resting on bed of Mexican slaw of cabbage,carrots, and jalapeno. Would definitely get this again!!!
