I ordered a beef plate. Would have ordered a sampler plate but the wasn’t one on the menu, sever said ” that would cost way too much to sell” This is a brisket cut, before I could say anything the server cut and started chopping the portion with a cleaver. I prefer my brisket sliced. It was OK, not a lot of flavor. It came with 2 sides. I ordered baked beans and collard greens. The beans tasted like they were straight from a bush’s can. I LOVE collards. These tasted to be a chopped from a frozen bag, with no seasoning. Thete is NO corn bread. The servers were pleasant, but this Virgina place needs to lean what smoke house cooking is.

Pulled over to get a quick bite. The two kids that were serving the food were very sweet and very nice. The barbecue was at least 24hrs old. The coleslaw was very sweet and the potato salad had way too much vinegar in it. Who put vinegar in their potato salad????? The young man chopped my brisket up without asking and drowned in. Barbecue sauce. I’m not sure if it was even barbecue sauce because it tasted so vinegar and katch up. I ended up getting very sick over eating this food I will never stop there again.

As a truck driver I visit a lot of hole in the wall places to eat. When I saw there was a BBQ place where I was parking for the night I figured I’d try them out. The first impression of the place when you walk in, it has a feel in that one scene in Smokey and the bandit where snowman walked into the come and puke with the 80s decor. It smelled great in there but that’s where it ends. I got the half chicken with mac and cheese and collard greens. The mac and cheese was bland…it needed a little salt and pepper. The collards greens had no taste to it. The chicken wasn’t seasoned at all and was really dry and tough to swallow. The only good thing was the BBQ sauce.

Beef was dry and old, could tell it was either cooked in the am or the day before. That so called bbq sauce tasted like pure vinegar and was by far the nastiest ever. The coleslaw wasn’t that bad. Wouldn’t suggest eating here after lunch hours.

It’s a truck stop, so base everything from there. Everyone was extremely friendly. Chicken I believe was smoked so drier than I would have preferred. But sauces were good. The greens tasted canned, so not so good.

This place is a hole in the wall but they have fantastic meat. The traffic makes it difficult to get in and out of, it’s only 45mph but the flow of traffic goes 55. The service in here is excellent, these guys are very accommodating. I was hungry for lunch at 7am and they made me a BBQ sandwich with the pork they had in the warmer. Truck parking is available, it fills up in the evening but they have room for create-a-spots.

The food was good and it didn’t take long for the food to come out even though they had to make fries. It all came out fairly quickly. It’s definitely worth a quick stop in.

Facility was clean and the staff was great. I ordered ribs with spicy bbq sauce, chicken, baked beans, and the apple crisp.
