At our Abingdon, VA location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

I love this restaurant and / or location. It’s not the easiest getting in and out of, but the restaurant is exceptional. I’ve frequent this place several times over the past 4 years (would more if it was easier access), and it’s always had good customer service, the restaurant is very well kept, and the food is always fresh and hot. So, be sure to stop by and enjoy a fresh hot meal and at prices that are reasonable.

Not much to say. Shame that ordering a family neal and adding a 3rd extra side you get charged a family meal price for the additional side but receive a single serving side . Food was below par for even a fast food chain which in and of itself is sad. The fries were okay and the only part of the meal that was “decent”.

Walked in to one of the cleanest places I have ever ate at. Was greeted immediately and let me tell you. The manager(I wish I got her name) was so friendly and inviting. She told me I was a hero in her eyes cause I was a trucker, as her dad was. We don’t ever hear that ever and I owe that woman for that. Made my year. The food was so delicious and I can’t brag enough. Every single employee was friendly and awesome. Thank you all.

Owner op truck driver here, home is 20 minutes north of Birmingham Alabama and I love some Captain d’s but it’s not very often that I get to drop in one out in the field and I must say that this place should have a tip jar because not only was I greeted and treated well and was the food amazing but I watched them cater to everybody as if they were the most important person in the place, again as an owner op trucker, I have the utmost respect for hard work and great service and this place is doing it right.. I know we are all struggling in this economy that we live in and sometimes just a thank you helps encourage us to keep doing what we do so I take my hat off and say thank you to everyone working at this Captain D’s location you are very much appreciated

Had not been in a while, also know prices have gone up, but it is crazy the prices. And meals don’t come with drinks. Almost 4 dollars for a drink. The other chains meals come with drinks. I could have put 10 more dollars with this and had 2 steak dinners. And it wasn’t that good either. Fish was slimey on 1 side and grease oozed from hushpuppies. I will not pay that much money for chain fast food again.

I ordered the fish and 12 shrimp with fries and slaw, when I got home and opened the container l tried the fries cause they looked so bad and they tasted like they were more than likely made yesterday evening. I called back to Captain D’s and spoke with the manager he wasn’t very helpful, he said I’ll replace the fries cause he wasn’t going to replace a half eaten meal and I told him the rest of the food hadn’t been eaten and he replied I’ll still replace the fries so I said I’ll bring the food back and get my money back and he was very rude. I think that the restaurant should replace all of their employees and find people that have better attitudes. I took the food back and got the money back for because it was so bad. I’ll never eat there again and if I could give negative stars I would, but the one in Bristol Tn. has better food and nicer employees.

The food was just OK, but it is fast food, so I wasn’t expecting Ruth’s Chris or anything. They do make everything to order, though and deliver it to your table, so that’s a nice touch.

Everything was good, amongst us we had the grilled salmon, butterfly shrimp, 2 piece spicy white fish, and kids tenders. The fried okra was and green beans were a highlight of the meal.
