Hank’s Franks is a North Jersey hot dog icon. It is a tiny stand located on US 46 East in Lodi, just about a mile from Teterboro Airport. It has stood in the same spot with only a few cosmetic changes over the years. While the appearance may have changed a bit, the quality of the menu has remained steady at the top notch throughout the years. To start with, it’s the top of the line brand for the franks, and that’s Sabrett’s. They use toppings that are superlative to say the least. Their chili topping has a nice kick to it and actually tastes like a chili should. They also found two ways to my heart with their menu. #1, for mustard, they use real brown (and not “Yer Yella”) mustard. And #2, they have my favorite cola, RC.

Finally tried Hank’s Franks after driving past it so many times. We stopped in on a Friday at around noon and there were a few people coming and going. I read that the most popular topping is the potato so we got one of those , one with potatoes and hot Italian onions, and a hot chili Texas wiener. It was interesting. I probably wouldn’t order the potato again but I enjoyed the chili one and the hot Italian onions. Next time, I’ll need to get the hot chili with the hot Italian onions. It would taste even better and then I can go breathe on my worst enemy.

This is my kinda spot. No frills, just your everyday old school mom and pop joint on thensidenof the highway. We met.a guy in there that said he had been going there for 30+ years and had ordered like 16ndogs while we were there lol. We had 2, one with Chilli cheese and onion and the other all the way with potatoes. If I could eat there 3 times a week I would, the dogs are legit. Only sad thing is they are only open till 5pm. I’d go at 12am after work everyday if i could. Local GEM.

Cinnamon doesn’t belong in chili, it tastes horrible! Number 2, they can’t get the order straight. I repeated twice and still received the wrong toppings. Number 3, if your place is filled with customers, is that really the best time to carry on a conversation with a friend ignoring those in line? Now I remember why I always pass this place and go elsewhere.

Historic small hot dog vendor on Rt46. They only serve one main item and that is Sabrett hot dogs with various kinds of toppings. The size of the dogs seem to be kind of small, but I guess that’s how they keep the price down. As far as flavor goes I thought the dogs were nothing special. No seating inside. Just a stand-up counter. Also several picnic tables outside. The door to their bathroom facility is on the outside if you ask for the key.
