We had heard they had the chicken that was once served at the old Byron Center hotel and bar, with the big chicken. We would go there often so being able to go to a new place for the same good chicken was worth the drive. Fortunately our friend drove and knew the area. I would have solely relied on Google Maps. Ultimately the chicken was good but not the exact same chicken as we remember. We would go again!

A quiet, rural lunch lounge by day and a busy bar by night. They’ve got all the regular things to eat like burgers and fried things but a few gems on the menu as well. The real reason to come is the friendly service, easy going atmosphere, and music on the weekend nights. It’s spacious and kid/family friendly.

My husband had the prime rib and he said it was the best he ever had and he gave me a bite and I have to agree, it was so tender and had a very good flavor. I had the shrimp dinner and the shrimp were huge and tasted wonderful. Everything was so good we will definitely go back and I told my daughter and her husband and they want to go there now so we will probably treat them to dinner there soon….

Hilliards is sneaky huge on the inside. Lots of room for bigger groups. I would consider this place a high end dive. Lots of different draft beers… challenge yourself to get one drink per draft there. The Hilliards draft beer world tour!

Good little Country bar with food. They are known for their fried gizzards. We had onion petals for an appetizer. They were very good. Wife had a half pound of the gizzards. They were tasty. I had a burrito and it was good too. Looks like they have bands occasionally. We will go back. Service was very good.

Definitely worth driving into farm country for this place! The burgers are big and juicy, and the pulled pork barbecue quesadilla was delicious! Friendly stuff clean place. We were there right when they opened, so super quiet, but the room looks like it could rock out a party.

If you are looking for some fantastic food and awesome service, look no further. I had the Mongo burger, and it was made to perfection. Mouthwatering goodness. I will definitely be back!

Best burger and Fries in the Wayland, Shelbyville, Dorr, Gun Lake area. It was a Sunday so expect a little wait, one waitress was doing most everything, but she was still very attentive and welcoming.
