It seems they are making a good effort to do a good job. Everything is just shy of excellence. Perch was better than average. Respectable old fashioned. Nice little salad. Service was friendly but a little slow. Atmosphere could be great but- odd campers out front and repairs to the deck during dinner. A little more attention to detail and it could be 5 stars.

Sunday family lunch gathering. We reserved the dome. What a neat experience. Crafted cocktails were terrific. Unfortunately they had a cook and a wait staff not show for work so the ones there were a bit stressed but handled it well and appreciated the business. Can’t wait to check it out in the summer.

I understood it was memorial weekend. But the server Brian didn’t bring my son his drink when we ordered drinks then when we ordered food he charged me for a regular chicken strip basket when I ordered a children’s one and forgot about our salads that were supposed to be included in our fish dinners. On top of it got a $10 charge on my card that I never put on the receipt. worst experience I have ever had.

I went for the first time because my Oldest Son was one of the line cooks tonight & it was Friday Fish Fry. I brought the whole Family. We had great service. We came while it was somewhat early. Started inside but it is to loud for conversations, so we moved outside. The place is nice. Servers are absolutely attentive & wonderful. We had five fish fry dinners. One cod, one perch & three blue gill. Of five fish dinners only one was slightly fishy. Which if you have cooked at home. Fresh fish or frozen fish, it can happen to anyone. Everyone was really happy, had a great time and will definitely pop in again. Their appetizers are perfect. If you want a nice sit by the fire and chat with friends. Their outdoor dining, appetizers and drinks would be the perfect calm evening. The place was busy, yet calm. You need to try the cheese curds & mozzarella sticks if you eat that type of food. They had that homemade feel.

I was underwhelmed with the food. I had a sandwich with brisket, pulled pork, and chicken. While it had a smoky flavor the brisket was so tough it was unedible. I didn’t see any pork, but the chicken was tasty just not enough to overcome the other two items to make it good. It was a busy Friday evening, but many other tables that came after us where served food before us. It took at least an hour for food to arrive, we just got sandwiches. The waitress was very nice and accommodating even apologized for the wait. Everyone else at table said their food was good.

Really a nice place with good service and friendly people. A very nice young bartender was super friendly and fun to talk to. We will be back, this place deserves a try, much improved from previous ownership.

Stopped in tonight to get away from it all to have a Captain & Coke. Nice atmosphere, good view of the lake, very clean, along with being a family friendly place. Met the owners as well. The food that was being served look really good to! Ill be back!

Probably not 5 stars over time, but they deserve it for my first visit. We just had beer and apps, but a Norms Hideaway V2 with new owners giving it their best. Fully support and hope more people get out and see what they think.

We just heard about this place the other day and decided to try it. What a hidden gem! Food and service were both great. Smoked meats were cooked to perfection! I really appreciated having some great healthy choices on the menu too. We will be back!

Outpost has quality food and service with a beautiful location on Lake Koshkonong. They could be slightly faster some days with food delivery, but good things take time and there are plenty of good views to enjoy while you wait. I’d recommend trying them out.
