It’s an unpretentious restaurant with great staff, and great food at a reasonable price. Definitely recommend the carne adovada plate, but you could order blindfolded and couldn’t go wrong.

Even as a gringa, I recognized that this was not authentic Mexican. I’ve never experienced such terrible food. The sauce, beans were from a can, for sure, the blue corn tortilla I had for my enchiladas was mushy and couldn’t even tell it was a tortilla anymore. Sopapilla was old and not fresh.

Breakfast, service was pretty decent, food was also decent. Nothing exemplary but not bad. Restaurant is not very clean, but some of my favorite hole in the wall joints are that way. I’m thinking 3 1/2 stars. I would return, maybe try something else.

This has been our go-to dive for the last decade. The food is good, the space unpretentious and the staff is always super nice. Don’t expect elegant dining here, but if you’re looking for good Salvadoran and New Mexican food at an awesome price, you won’t be disappointed.
