We were staying at the Inn and decided to have dinner here. Had trouble finding how to get to restaurant.When you come into the lobby go upstairs. Once we found it staff was very nice.The food was wonderful.They bring you a piece of cornbread with three choices of condiments (that changes frequently) ours were maple butter, herbs in oil and a pepper chutney.I had the salad with no pecans ( apparently no goat cheese either?) it was mainly baby spinach the dressing was delicious for my meal I had the chef tortellini you get three large ones in a delicious sauce and my husband got cod it was also delicious. We’ve been coming up to Dover for several years now once every 2 months. We recently discovered this restaurant and it will be one of our favorite go to places in the Dover area. What made our initial experience great was not only the food and ambience but Teresa, our server, who we like so much. In a time when customer service seems to be decreasing, Teresa is a blessing. To us, a restaurant can have the best food in the world but if their service is lacking, it will ruin the whole experience.

Amazing restaurant. The food was superb and the service was top notch. The half chicken and the short rib both fell apart with just a fork. The tomato appetizer was delicious, but the duck strips were just ok. The server was incredibly nice and friendly. The cocktails were delicious. The inn and restaurant themselves were so beautiful.

We just had our 9th anniversary dinner here at Sawmill. Incredible food from start to finish, carefully crafted with clear expertise. Our server Mattea was wonderful . You can tell she cares about the restaurant and making sure her guests have a top notch experience. Locally sourced ingredients throughout both the food and beverage menus.
