Came here on a Saturday night. I was expecting it to be crowded but it wasn’t. We (4 girls) were seated immediately without a reservation which was a plus. The ambiance was nice — dimly lit with background music. But the vibe was a bit off. It was really quiet. We ordered several rounds of wine. They were all pretty good except one my friend ordered. She was able to return it though. The waitress was ok but not great. She wasn’t friendly and seemed to drag her feet when it came to our table. We also ordered the chocolate fondue. For $15, the selection wasn’t too bad. It came with slices of apple, strawberries, marshmallows and pound cake. The chocolate however, was runny. I wouldn’t mind coming back here for their wine selection but it’ll probably be a while before that happens.

Located in the West Loop, you’ll find this swanky establishment, which might be the best place in town to get a taste of truly great vino. With a beautiful view of the city from upstairs, The Tasting Room sells wines in flights or by the glass or bottle, stocking a wide variety from hundreds of different wines, including many hard-to-find bottles. Wine can be paired with small plated meals of artisanal cheeses, chocolates and small tapas-style dishes.

Really find girl’s night out! Delicious food, fabulous wine and really fun atmosphere! The menu is designed for small-plate sharing and I spent way too much money for going home not-that-full, but this is definitely a great special-occasion, once-in-a-while splurge that everyone needs!

The bacon wrapped dates are incredible, as is everything else we tried.

For a glass of wine in the West Loop, you can’t beat The Tasting Room. Their wines by the glass change daily and they carry hundreds of bottles to suit every occasion. The decor is classic and doesn’t overwhelm the real reason why you’re there: the full skyline view. Note: The upstairs space can be rented out for weddings and other private events.

I was there for a cheese/charcuterie and wine tasting and it was so good. The food was overflowing on the board and it was very tasty. I would definitely go a second and a third time.
